This Gundog training holiday combines a relaxing countryside break with expert-led training by Steve his team and myself for you and your dog. Set in a scenic rural location in the Scottish Borders surrounded by the Lammermuir Hills, this holiday is designed for owners who want to develop their gundog’s skills while enjoying time outdoors with like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere. Key Highlights: Training typically takes place in a small group of six dogs and is tailored to different gundog breeds and experience levels, from young dogs learning the basics to experienced gundogs refining their fieldwork. Sessions focus on core skills such as obedience, steadiness, recall, retrieving, hunting patterns, and working calmly around other dogs. You and your dogs will be challenged in different ways. Positive, practical training methods are used, with plenty of individual guidance to help you understand your dog and build confidence as a handler. We will have a shared lunch on training days and feedback sessions every day. Outside of training hours, there is time to relax and explore the surroundings. Holiday accommodation in the area ranges from country lodges and farm cottages to traditional hotels, with dog friendly facilities and access to open countryside. We will arrange a shared meal, informal discussions, and opportunities to watch other dogs work, making them as sociable as they are educational.
