Gundog Grade 3

For any breed and age of dog wanting to learn the grade 2 and 3 levels of gundog training and have already completed the grade 1 course.

The course objective is to give dog owners a practical and theoretical knowledge of the basic commands and training methods required to produce an obedient and happy gundog. Dogs learn at different rates and are better at some things more than another; therefore exercises will be adapted to suit each dog’s individual ability.

During the course owners will:

  • Learn how to train their dogs using positive reinforcement methods (clicker and rewards).
  • Learn from demonstrations, explanations and practical application.
  • Need to practice with their dog, for a short period most days, in order to get the most out of this course.
  • Build their knowledge and training skills week by week (as will the dog).

Price: £150

Please see our Events Calendar for course dates and enquire for availability.

Collette May only uses science based positive training methods to reinforce the behaviours that are desirable from our dogs. Positive reinforcement training is force free, fun and very effective.

Collette has used these methods with great success to train her two Labrador Retrievers and won numerous awards in gundog working tests, a hugely rewarding hobby for her and her dogs, in which they have to work together as a team to get the job done. It fulfills the dogs’ natural drive to retrieve game which makes for happy and content gundogs. She regularly works at a shoot and competes in field trials, which are the top level of gundog competition.

Gundog Grade 3 is a six-week course of weekly 75 minute classes. Please check the calendar for current class times.
