Gundog Grade 2 – Online via Zoom

This course is the equivalent of our usual grade 2 gundog course but done virtually via a Facebook group and zoom. This allows people to attend who do not live locally, more suitable for dogs not comfortable in groups and those that are in season.

You will be invited to a Facebook group where you will find the exercises to work on during the week in the units. You can post your attempts into the group for feedback during the week. At the end of the week you are invited to join the weekly zoom meeting to discuss how you got in with the exercises and you can ask any questions. this is an opportunity to talk 1:1 with Collette and the others in the group all get to learn too. It is recorded for those that can’t make the zoom meetings.

This course is for any breed and age of dog wanting to learn the basics of gundog training. This course follows the Gundog Club grade 2 criteria. This includes the retrieve, sit stay, heelwork, recall, stop whistle, directions and hunting.

Cost is £120 for the 6 week course

Please see our Events Calendar for course dates and enquire for availability.

Collette May only uses science based positive training methods to reinforce the behaviours that are desirable from our dogs. Positive reinforcement training is force free, fun and very effective.

Collette has used these methods with great success to train her two Labrador Retrievers and won numerous awards in gundog working tests, a hugely rewarding hobby for her and her dogs, in which they have to work together as a team to get the job done. It fulfills the dogs’ natural drive to retrieve game which makes for happy and content gundogs. She regularly works at a shoot and competes in field trials, which are the top level of gundog competition.

Gundog Grade 2 is a 6 week course of weekly 60 minute classes. Please check the calendar for current class times.
